Carol is an Executive Coach credentialed through the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She coaches in the government sector, as well as in small-to-medium-sized businesses. Within the Federal Government she has worked with mid and senior-level managers at CBP, DOJ, FAA, FBI, NASA, SOCOM, and NSA, as well as DOT on the Maryland state level. She is a gifted speaker and facilitator experienced in delivering interactive team-building programs.
As a certified Gallup Strengths Coach, Carol has significant expertise in strengths development of individuals and teams. Utilizing the CliftonStrengths Finder assessment as a springboard for her custom programs, she teaches and develops a deeper understanding of personal and team strengths. Strengths development provides multiple benefits as individuals fully embrace their natural talents and learn how to manage them more effectively for greater influence. Self-management includes understanding the light and dark sides of one’s top strengths and continually calibrating them for optimal impact. Teams work better together when they understand each other’s strengths. Increased communication, well-delivered feedback, and tolerance for differences, improves the overall cohesion and productivity of a team. Pairing team members with complementary strengths increases their output and creates the foundation for a solid organization. Carol has provided her strengths-based leadership development programs to businesses in the health and financial fields, non-profits, churches, and government agencies.
In addition, Carol is a Certified Action Learning Coach (CALC) with the World Institute for Action Learning (WIAL). She uses this impactful tool to develop the leadership competencies of her clients while solving real work challenges. Action Learning has been a part of her coaching with DOJ, FAA, and area businesses and non-profits.
As a certified Master Practitioner of the Energy Leadership Index (MP-ELI), Carol teaches a 7-level framework to identify and manage positive and negative energy within teams and individuals. Clients report that this tool aids them in managing their thoughts, emotions, and actions to avoid draining energy and to consistently tap into their high-performance abilities.
In 2008, Carol received her coach training from the ICF accredited program, iPEC (The Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching). Prior to that, she received her Bachelor of Science from the University of New Hampshire in teaching, with a minor in psychology.
She is the Founder of the Wholistic Coaching Coalition, LLC. Through this organization she collaborates with other coaches to host a variety of original retreats and coaching groups to develop women both personally and professionally.
Carol is the author of a unique coaching book, Lost and Found: Discovering Strength in Love and Faith. Through storytelling and reflection questions she expertly guides readers as they discover and develop their inner strength and resilience. As she tells her own story, Carol meets readers where they are, inviting them to explore their own lessons of love and faith utilizing a companion workbook. She hosts the Lost and Found Resilience Podcast and leads retreats based on her book.
Carol stays connected to colleagues and area businesses through her memberships with ICF and the Frederick Chamber of Commerce. She participates regularly with the local ICF chapter, serves on the Women-In-Business Chamber sub-committee, and is the past president of her BNI chapter.
Prior to becoming a coach, she worked for 26 years in the telecommunications industry. She is passionate about being an entrepreneurial businesswoman who creates winning experiences for clients and colleagues.
She lives in Middletown, Maryland with her husband Greg. One of her most treasured joys is seeing their young adult children become the incredible people they are while consciously developing her own life and purpose.
