Rae Gallagher,
Executive Director of Girls on the Run of Mid & Western Maryland

Rae Gallagher is a dedicated advocate for youth empowerment and education. As the Executive Director of Girls on the Run, Rae oversees the development and implementation of programs that inspire young girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident through a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. Under her leadership, the organization is expanding its reach and impact while fostering a supportive community that champions the physical, emotional, and social well-being of all girls and young women.
 
In addition to her role at Girls on the Run, Rae serves as the Vice President of the Board of Education in Frederick County. In this capacity, she is committed to ensuring that all students have access to high-quality education and the resources they need to succeed. Her efforts focus on promoting equity, enhancing educational opportunities, and supporting teachers and staff in their mission to educate every student, every day.
 
Rae holds a master’s degree in public administration and her professional background includes significant experience in both non-profit management and educational policy development. Outside of her professional life, Rae is an avid runner and community volunteer. She enjoys spending time with her family, participating in local events, and is a recent graduate of Leadership Frederick County.
