Founder, Executive Director of The Hatch Project
Susan is a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a dog-mom. She is also a student, a teacher, and an intermediate (at best) roller-blader. She loves the Muppets, Kwai Chang Caine, and considers herself a guacamole specialist. Susan loves to create, to collaborate, and to champion people and their ideas. She believes that if people can create, then people can change.
She grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia, the daughter of an ER nurse and medical research scientist. From her parents, Susan learned about taking action and asking questions at a very young age. Susan’s two older brothers taught her infinite patience, sarcasm, and which albums were actually cool.
Susan’s professional career spans 20+ years and includes strategic consulting roles in business, technology, design, education, and organizational leadership. She is a senior Agile/Scrum professional and certified as an Agile Product Owner, a ScrumMaster, and an Agile Coach. In her former corporate roles, Susan reported to the President Level, C-level, and senior leader stakeholders.
She is currently a doctoral candidate in Organizational Leadership pursuing research in nascent entrepreneurship and complexity science-based leadership.
